About CV Once

Many online CV builders ask for an account before you start, or let you write a whole CV and then ask for payment at the download step. Your work history, contact details and sometimes a photo end up on someone else's server. CV Once takes the opposite approach.

What it is

• Free, and no sign-up. Open the builder and start typing.
• Private by construction. The builder runs in your browser and saves to your browser. The site's security policy blocks the page from sending data elsewhere. See Privacy.
• One CV, many exports. Keep a master CV, make tailored copies, and export each to PDF, plain text, Markdown or JSON.
• Honest checks. Plain, published rules, tested on a labelled set, not an "AI score". See How it's tested.

Who makes it

CV Once is an independent site. The templates, checks, guides and examples are written for this site; the example CVs describe fictional people. The guides describe common conventions, which vary between employers, sectors and countries. They aren't legal or careers advice for your particular situation.

Corrections

If a guide gets something wrong about your country or field, or a check flags something it shouldn't, that's worth fixing. Every check result on the methodology page comes from a published test set, and new cases are added as problems are found.
